Really Gage? Really?
And, of course, everyone's opinion is going to be "Why do you even bother? Just don't read the comics!" Which is a very, very wise opinion but, you know, me being the endlessly
stupid hopeful girl and sometimes I like the comics so.
But this time, this issue ... OMG JUST NO is a strong enough opinion?
The issue opens with Angel in a coma/mental confusion/state of helplessness and Spike and Faith tallking about how they can fix the situation. There is a mystical thingy that they need to find and so on ...
At the beginning of the issue Spike says that Angelus isn't a different persona, he's really a demon that it's always present. And so that. Then he says that resurrecting people is dangerous and he knows that but Faith says that she saw it works once (I suppose with Buffy) and so it's fine to try. Then our heroes search for the mystical cup of stuff to contain Giles' soul and free Angel.
And the Spike's rant starts.
Of course, Spike terribly wants to just have sex! He didn't even looked at Morgan (A willingly sexy lady) but know he wants it so bad and so he starts hitting on Faith. And Faith doesn't want to be a rebound girl but he tells her that she slept with Xander and she was flirty in S7 "Dirty Girls" SO WHY NOT?
Faith - now more mature than everyone else - says that he needs to stop thinking about Buffy and he will get laid. Because, of course, the point was that.
But Spike's rant continues.
Now he wants to hit Giles' aunts but they don't want because of reasons. And Spike needs to rant about it, you know? And he ends up saying that he admired Angel for leaving Buffy and starting a new life in L.A and that this is all Angel's fault because he was getting laid with all the soul thingy and Spike took it just for that and now bad Buffy won't have sex with him! BECAUSE OF COURSE, LET'S FORGET ABOUT SEASON SEVEN AND JUST PICK SOME RANDOM WORDS OF CRAZY!SPIKE IN BENEATH YOU.
Not sadisfied Spike even ask himself: MAYBE BUFFY WANTED JUST A MONSTER! WHY I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT THAT BEFORE?
Because, of course, Spike didn't tell Riley that Buffy wanted a monster in her man. He didn't believed that for all Season Six. He never thought about that at all. He now thinks that because the soul was such a lame idea and they weren't closer after his return in Sunnydale. Totally.
What can I say to his wonderful portrayal of Spike? Congrats, Gage!
