Here I'm posting the new little story both in English and in Italian.

I'll be Seeing you

She still sees him. After battles, apocalypses and little changes that makes the world spin around once more.

Sometimes she can even see him in the eyes of her son or in the smile of Dawn’s twins which is almost ridiculous because they aren’t even related by blood. But forever was the point, after all.

He’s beautiful and sad and lonely. Sometimes she just wants to stroke his hair and make him remember about all those sweet moments they shared and make him feel just the tenderness and the peace.

She acts like a mother with him. Like a big sister or a friend. And she loves him very much. Like a child and like a lover.

Because forever was the whole point and it still is - even when she closes the door and says goodbye. “I’ll be seeing you,” she whispers.

And she still does.

Lo vede ancora. Dopo le battaglie, le apocalissi e i piccoli cambiamenti che permettono al mondo di girare su se stesso.

Qualche volta lo vede persino negli occhi di suo figlio, nel sorriso delle gemelle di Dawn, cosa quasi ridicola perché non sono vincolati da alcun legame di sangue. Ma per sempre era il punto della situazione, dopotutto.

Angel è bellissimo e triste e solo. A volte vorrebbe soltanto carezzargli i capelli e fargli ritornare alla mente tutti i momenti di dolcezza che hanno condiviso, fargli sentire la tenerezza e la pace.

Si comporta come una madre nei suoi confronti. Come una sorella maggiore ed un'amica. E lo ama, da morire. Come una bambina, come un'amante.

Perché, che il loro legame durasse per sempre, era il punto della situazione e ancora lo è, anche quando lei chiude la porta e lo saluta. “Ti rivedrò,” sussurra.

E mantiene la promessa.

Hannibal aka the awkward moment when you think that a cannibal is sexy

This week I've started to follow Hannibal, the NBC show. I'm liking it.
The show itself is really, really disturbing at times - we are still talking about someone who eats people. PEOPLE. I think it's wise to watch it when you're not eating anything, especially meat. But I'm liking it.

The structure is similar to a classic procedural cop show, with the FBI constantly involved, the tormented detective and the badass boss. But there are also original bits. For example the characterization of Will Graham, a complete empathic who often identify himself with the killer and bases the investigation on his feelings and perceptions. I miss the instinctual component in a thriller. After years and years of CSI whatever there's no room for emotions and I think that's a pity. I love my detectives to be instinctual, perceptive and emotionally involved.

Somehow the empathy feels like a premonition in this show. They really push the button. Will Graham is able to understand the killer just looking at the crime scene and he feels like a magician more than a real detective. Still, I like how is characterized. He's inability to be indifferent, his inevitable attraction for the dark side of the human mind and he's incapacity to deal with emotions in a normal way.
I think that Hugh Dancy does an amazing job. It really feels like his character has been through hell.
And here we go with the other protagonist: Hannibal Lecter. Mads Mikkelsen portrays him in a incredibly charming way. We are talking about a cannibal and serial killer and still Lecter is an intersting and charismatic man. He's always dress amazingly and he's very intelligent. As audience we should feel disgusted by Hannibal's urges but somehow - at least it happens to me - we like to watch him and we even feel sad for his loneliness. I feel like there is a parallelism between the audience and Will: both are becoming more and more fascinated by something so dark and wrong. Both are empathizing with the killer.
Also I think there is nothing sexier than a man with a sexy accent and amazingly sharp cheekbones who can cook like a god, but that's me.

Other news!

Today is the day for Doctor Who fans. The last episode didn't give me the feels, even if it was written by Gaiman. I'm still very indifferent to Clara - I think that she's the companion I'm liking the least. Personally I didn't dislike Martha Jones so Clara is my least favourite companion so far. Uhm, let's see what happens tonight and if they are going to reveal her true identity or the mystery about Clara.

If you're a fan of Loki and Thor and a Thunderfrost shipper, you should totally read THIS series, By watchfires and thrones of crowned kings by Melitot. It's an amazing series of short fics that focus on the relationship between Thor and Loki. It's like the heaven of a shipper because we see all the stages of their relationship but it's also a good series because the characterization of both Loki and Thor is perfect. And Loki is still a little shit at times - so very IC with the Loki in the movies.

I'm developing a kink for Jotun!intersex!Loki. I think it's interesting the idea of Loki both female and male because Loki in the movies has problems with women and now he has to accept that he's also a female. And it feels so appropriate for Loki - someone who has solid problems of self-acceptance - and cool because Thor still loves everything that Loki is, as he does in the comics and the movies. Also hot alien sex. (Basically asgardians and jotuns are aliens and it feels right to mix with genders with them)

First look at the Crazy Ones

First look at The Crazy Ones, the new show with SMG, thanks to petzipellepingo

My thoughts:

The trailer doesn't impress me much. But it's just the first look of the show and I have to watch the episodes to judge.

Personally I didn't find AllyMcBeal so good. I liked the cast but the show did nothing to me while I really, really adored Boston Legal. I wish that this new show would be similar to Boston Legal. If so I'm going to love it.

SMG's hair color is awful. Too platinum blonde and I think that she looks better - and even younger - with a darker shade of blond.

Random writing thoughts

I just slept for hours this afternoon. I'm going to have a funny night because I won't sleep a second. Why do I always make the same mistake about "just closing my eyes for a minute" after lunch?

So I translated the first six chapters of my Spuffy AU. I don't remember who wanted to do the beta job but it can start right now because I have the chapters ready for corrections. So let me know.

And, talking about fanfics, I want to write something about Loki and Thor but I don't have ideas. I think I need the new movie - just watching the trailer made me write a brief story. Need the movie, NOW! And I kinda want to change the plot of one of my fics - a WIP - because I feel like it could be interesting with Buffy/Spike pairing instead of Lindsay/Buffy and Angel/Spike. Lindsay/Buffy is, I think, a very rare pairing and I loved the idea of doing it, but writing the story I kinda realized how - in that particular AU 'verse - the relationship between Spike and Buffy is far more interesting. (Because in the plot Spike is Giles' lover and Buffy is, like in the show, Giles' almost daughter) I'm having this need to change the plot but I've already posted 23 chapters and I feel it would be a "betrayal" for those who liked the fic. I'm torn.

And I'm listening to a song that reminds me of high school.

I cut my hair really short. Pixie/garconne short. And I'm not even sorry about it.
The only thing that bugs me it's this: I have curly hair and the haircut is so symmetrical. Is it going to give me trouble? I just want to put on some gel and go on with my life. I'm awful at caring for my hairstyle. I just want to wash my hair and find it already good. I fail at being a girl.

Also, somebody on Tumblr made a post mixing Loki's images with Spike's quotes. I'm laughing so hard!

33. Shadow

Annie fainted a few steps from the door into Spike’s arms. Paramedics and nurses were immediately checking the child and reassuring Buffy as she tried to touch her.

The little girl raised a hand and asked for air. Everyone took a step back and the Slayer reached for her.

“Honey, what’s wrong?” she asked.

Annie coughed. “It was him, mum. Hermes.” She said. “We’ll meet again at dawn. He said so.”

“Who is Hermes?”

“Mercurius,” Spike said.

Annie nodded. “He’s very tall and wears a red cloak.”

“Did you … dream about him?”

“He came to see me. He says that we have a very special bond and he can always see what I see or feel what I feel.”

Buffy held her breath. “And he told you he will come back soon,” she replied nervously.

“Yes.”

Annie closed her eyes from exhaustion. Spike lifted her and put her on the bed next to Faith. Buffy was almost trembling.

“Oh there you are all ill and cute!”

Annie giggled at the funny expression of Auntie Willow. The witch was carrying with her a strange pink powder she was spreading all around the hospital room.

“Let’s start with the ritual,” Willow said. “Soon the man in red will be a distant memory, my darling.”

Buffy sat alongside her daughter and took her hand. “Are you ready, baby? Are you afraid?”

“Not at all.”

“You’re very brave,” she smiled. “I’ll stay right next to you.”

Annie looked at Willow who took a little bit of sand and touched her forehead.

“It tickles!” the girl exclaimed with a giggle.

“Yes. But now you really want to sleep. Close your eyes, Annie.”

She obeyed and felt a wave of heat was taking her and rocking her gently. She smiled giving herself without hesitation and fell magically asleep.

“It worked …” Buffy murmured.

Willow began to recite an ancient formula, but after few seconds she shook her head.

“What is going on?”

“Nothing … it’s just that … there’s a shadow inside Annie’s mind. This shadow prevents me from entering …”

“The Mercurial?”

“Yes, but it’s weird. It’s deeper that I imagined and it seems like it belongs to Annie herself.” Willow closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She channeled all her divine power into her words. Annie sighed.

“Are you –”

“Quiet.”

The sand began to fluctuate in the air. Buffy tried to look at it but it was too bright and she had to close her eyes.

A desert appeared and then fields full of flowers and colorful birds.

“It’s Annie’s imagination,” Willow explained.

A curious and fragile deer, some horrific monsters, classrooms and darkness. Spike making a funny joke and Buffy shining in the sunlight.

“Bring the Mercurial!” Willow ordered redirecting the flow of the spiral.

A gray shadow materialized. He was wearing a cloak and his throat was marked by an alchemical sign.

“It’s him!”

Something in Buffy reacted and she remembered … she remembered …

“I command you to leave Annie alone!” Willow exclaimed with determination. The shadow was incredibly strong. “Disappear!”

The projection of the Mercurial dissolved into Annie’s mind. Spike and Buffy held her.

“She will sleep for a few hours,” Willow said. “It’s really tiring for a child to be subject to a spell like that. She must have suffered a lot when the Mercurial made the first contact.”

“Bloody bastard!”

Buffy was strangely silent and definitely pale.

“What’s the matter, love? Willow just –”

“I just recognized the Mercurial.”

Buffy was leaning against the wall of the waiting room. She was really tired.

“Willow,” she started. “You do remember Dawn’s boyfriend, right? We still have pictures of him or something …”

Willow shrugged.

“Everything was lost after that attack, the one in which … Every photo we had on Lenny, everything Dawn gave us was lost. But I remember that Giles was searching for information about him.”

“Yes. He thought that Lenny’s identity was a fake.”

“Okay,” Spike said. “Can you two please update the poor vampire in the room?”

“Buffy is talking about … Dawn was seeing a guy in her first year in college. He was named Leonard and …”

“… and he was killed,” Buffy continued. “He was killed in a car accident after few months. Dawn was already pregnant. It was a very dangerous time; some people believed that the child of the Key was some sort of mystical gift and I had to defend my sister from many attacks. Later we discovered that Dawn was … she wasn’t going to make it. It was like all her energy was completely absorbed by the pregnancy and she was dying because of it. It was awful. I tried to talk to her about … but it was too late.”

Spike bit his lips.

“Lenny, or whoever the hell he was, had organized everything. He seduced my sister, convincing her that he was a normal guy and –”

“Lenny is dead.” Willow said.

“No, he’s not. I just saw him inside my daughter’s mind.”

“You just saw the shadow of the Mercurial … oh my God.”

Spike clenched his fists. “What did Giles discovered about the guy?”

“He was a trismegistus,” Buffy muttered in tears. “Giles said that Lenny was a triswhatever. A kind of sorcerer who –”

“Like Mercury,” Spike replied. “Mercury; Hermes Trismegistus. They are all names of the Greek god.”

Willow held her face in her hand. “How can I not have noticed?” she whimpered. “How could I not seeing it? Hermes Trismegistus who guide all the alchemists. I can’t believe it!”

Spike shrugged. “It’s not the first time you couldn’t see somebody’s true identity. This time Buffy was able to realize the truth, maybe because she was inside Annie’s mind.”

“The car, the sudden disappearance … they were all tricks to make us forget about him!” Willow said. “But then … if Lenny and Mercurius are the same, Annie is his –”

“Don’t say it!” Buffy warned. “Mercurius is a murderer. He killed Dawn and damaged the mind of an innocent child. He’s a threat for humanity and I’m the Slayer. I know what I need to do; I must kill him.”

Here's another chapter. The translation of the fight scene was incredibly difficult. I had to rewrite some pieces and cut some others. I hope it still makes sense after everything and after slaymesoftly 's suggestions and corrections.

32. What's my Line? (Part II)

Faith stood up. She could feel the heat of blood on her forehead.

“You’re good,” she hissed gaining the necessary distance for a defensive move. “But I’ve seen better,” she added, amused.

Roxane brought the sword to her lips and stepped back for the counterattack. Faith studied her position; Roxane was keeping her guard up but preparing for a lethal move.

“You’re a good fighter,” the slayer said. “Who taught you?”

This time she managed to confuse the vampire and punched her in the face. Faith tried to pull out the stake but she was immediately disarmed. She reached the dagger in her jeans. “It’s not the size that counts – it’s how you use it,” she said trying to parry Roxane’s sword.

The vampire curled her lips into an annoyed frown. “You talk too much!” she exclaimed, kicking the slayer’s stomach. “How can you be a slayer?”

Faith finally stabbed the vampire’s arm. Roxane’s mask of indifference fell as she looked at her wounded arm. The vampire broke down her defense attacking with full power. Faith collapsed to the ground and Roxane grabbed her hair and pushed her against the wall.

“I hate girls,” she muttered angrily as she plunged her sword into Faith’s shoulder.

The slayer’s mouth fell open in a grimace of pain. The smell of blood was too intense and inviting; the vampire let down her fangs but a noise made her step back. Spike, Buffy and Angel rushed to rescue their wounded friend and Roxane had to escape.

“I’ll go after her,” Spike said as he took off running.

Angel bent over Faith and covered her with his leather jacket.

“You should have waited for us,” he whispered worried.

Faith grinned lazily. “I know,” she muttered with a hoarse voice.

Angel held her hand.

“I called an ambulance,” Buffy assured them.

She studied Roxane’s not-so-secret-anymore hiding place. There was snake’s dead skin all over the red carpets. She thought about Kostas. In the corner of the room she noticed something moving.

“Can you hear this noise?” she asked.

Angel nodded. It felt like the room was almost trembling.

“Angel, take the knife and use it to protect Faith.”

The floor at the end of the room was covered with snakes and crawling reptiles. Buffy took a step forward as she saw Spike coming back from his chase followed by an enormous demon snake.

“Spike!”

“I know, pet. It was a fucking trap!” he shouted, retreating.

He and Buffy tried to crush some dangerous snakes without losing sight of the demon.

“Is he tough?” she asked, studying his anthropomorphic shape.

“Kinda. Like we used to?”

“I’m right behind you.”

The vampire kicked the demon and immobilized him while Buffy took the front and started to punch his stomach. The slayer’s fists became more violent and fast and the demon collapsed to the ground in a matter of seconds. Spike beheaded him with his axe.

“Oh … ewww! Too many snakes!” Buffy exclaimed hopping towards Angel and Faith.

The ambulance was outside.

Faith woke up in the pleasant warmth of an hospital bed. Angel was beside her, sitting on an uncomfortable chair.

“Hey,” he whispered. “Are you feeling better?”

“Yeah. I’ve been worse.”

Angel nodded. “You shouldn’t have attacked alone. It was too dangerous.”

“You know me; first bleed and then think …”

“I was afraid,” Angel insisted. His tone was a mix of insecurity and paternal reprimand.

Faith closed her eyes. “I won’t do it again. I promise.”

Their moment was interrupted by Spike and Buffy.

“How are you, Faith? The shoulder feels better, doesn’t it?”

“The drugs are working, yes.”

“Good,” Buffy replied. “The nest we found surely belongs to Klaus and his fang family. Willow and the guys searched between carpets, clothes and everything was hidden there and we’re sure. And about the carpets … Willow says they are pretty valuable.”

“We’ll put them in our living room at the end of this fucking apocalypse,” Faith said.

“And smell all those snakes that used to nest there? No, thanks. I don’t understand why the Greek vampire has this thing for snakes. He’s called the Black Dog! Shouldn’t he go around with … dogs?”

Spike raised his scarred eyebrow.

“Anyway,” Buffy continued. “Now they need to find another place in town and it could be difficult. We just have to wait for their next move.”

“What about the Mercurial?” Angel asked. “We didn’t find him.”

“I’m confident,” Buffy replied. “Mercurius is always near his brother.”

The hallway seemed endless. With a sweaty hand resting on the wall Annie tried to move her legs. She could see an occasional nurse and some bottles of pills – should she take one? – the tables and the chairs. Faith’s room wasn’t really that far. With some difficulty, the little girl stopped for a second and took a seat. She was hearing the same unintelligible words repeated over and over. She could see the same red haired man she saw before reflected in the mirrors and on the white walls.

She stood up and bravely entered the intensive care unit. Auntie Faith was lying on a bed next to Uncle Angel and Spike holding her mother’s hand. She seemed so very pale.

Movies of the week

So, I'm waiting for Only Lovers Left Alive to come out in cinemas. I know that the movie is going to Cannes and I hope that, maybe, it will end up in cinemas soon. Because I need more Tom Hiddleston in my life, you know. And also the movie seems interesting on its own. I like Tilda Swinton and Mia Wasikowska (I had to google her name! XD) they are very talented and beautiful in their own way.

Meanwhile I watched two movies I didn't catch up when they came out.

First movie: Imagine me & you with Piper Perabo and Lena Headey. Nice one. Rachel (Piper Perabo) marries her long time boyfriend Matthew Goode (who is, as always, incredibly charming) but later she falls in love with Luce (Lena Headey) the florist who helped her at the wedding. It's a romantic commedy without a great deal of angst and I liked it because of that. There is also Tony Head who plays Rachel's father. Both Perabo and Headey are beautiful. I think that Lena Headey looks very sexy as a brunette. The wig in GoT ruins her appeal.
Anyway, really nice movie. Watch it.

Second movie: The Hurt Locker. I didn't watch the movie when it first came out because I was afraid to found it boring. Instead it's a very good movie. The actors are good and the story is interesting. It's about the effect that war has on people more that war in general and it's really interesting to watch the characters deal with all kinds of horror. Jeremy Renner's character is quite interesting even in a creepy way and he plays the role in the most natural way. The scenes with the bombs are really tense.

Drawing - or at least trying to

Okay, I tried to draw something. I'm rusty and actually I never took a lesson in drawing so everything is pretty much improvised.
I tried to portray Annie, my OC, in her 12/13 years old. I had to modify the design because the scanner wasn't catching everything and her expression changed. :/

She's sadder in the second take.

Also I've never understood how to portray male faces and generally male anatomy. It's frustrating. Somebody knows a trick?
I menage to do just fine with female forms but when it comes to males I suck big time.
I want to draw a man.

31. What's my Line? (Part I)

“… It wasn’t like an important meeting and I don’t even remember the guy!”

Spike rolled his eyes as he leaned against the wall. In most situations like this he would have pulled out a cigarette and smoked with satisfaction. Unfortunately Annie was particularly sensitive to the smell of tobacco and he also didn’t want to cause her any harm. Buffy and Angel were discussing about Klaus but even the prospective of a possible fight was boring.

“Oh really?” the Slayer snapped. “The guy in question is trying to kill us! And also he seems kinda cute … how can you have forgotten him?” she asked in disbelief.

Angel frowned.

“She’s appealing at your homosexual tendencies, Peaches,” Spike taunted. “We know all about you. Don’t be ashamed.”

“Look who’s talking! I’m just saying that I can’t remember everyone I’ve met in my long un-life. I think I remember the guy but …”

“Do you remember him yes or no?”

Angel shrugged resignedly.

“Yes,” he admitted. “Darla introduced him during a trip to Paris. She said that he was very powerful but I thought he was just a vampire like the others. His only interest was in drinking from the necks of young girls and getting rose petals and fine cream for his face. Yes, he does that.”

“I should try it,” Buffy muttered. “We were talking about Paris …”

“Right. We were in a hotel in the countryside. A palace, if I remember correctly. Klaus explained that his brother was the owner.”

“And you met the Mercurial?”

“No. The alchemist was gone by the time we arrived.”

Buffy sighed. “So nothing happened between you two? A little demonic friendship?”

“All I remember was recovering from a massive hangover in his living room. Klaus was asleep lying on a very expensive couch and covered in blood and rose petals. He was that vain even when he was sleeping.”

Spike smiled. “Your soulmate!”

Angel rolled his eyes.

“That’s okay,” Buffy said. “For now at least. We need to know something more about the Mercurial or we won’t be able to stop the apocalypse.”

Spike sighed. “It’s not so easy, love,” he replied. “The Mercurial has managed to hide for centuries, and even the Watchers Council didn’t know much about him,”

“So?”

“He’s a powerful alchemist; he can bend reality if he wants to. If he really managed to discover the Philosopher’s Stone we won’t get him. On the other hand, Klaus is a vampire and he needs to eat and find a nest and make friends among the other vampires.”

“Do you think that we should find him first?”

“Sure.”

“Well, let’s get to work. I’m calling Giles.”

Quickly Buffy called her former Watcher.

“Buffy!” he said almost surprised. “I was just waiting for you. I found more about the Mercurial.”

“Update the research. I’m gonna search for Klaus, he may be the only way to get to the Mercurial.”

“Interesting idea.”

Buffy turned to Angel and Spike. “We have to move quickly,” she said. “If Klaus is hiding in Los Angeles we could end this tonight.”

“But you think that we’re facing an … organization?” Spike asked.

“Yes.”

“And so … how do we act?”

“We start with something. Since Kostas kidnapped me we’ve checked all the possible hiding places in the city. Klaus seems the luxury type, while Kostas is much more pragmatic. We’ll search in the areas marked by Kennedy.”

“Are you sure you want to do this now?” Angel asked.

“Yeah. I can’t waste any more time and it should be fun,”

“How so?”

“Spike and I, you and Faith. We can have a double-date!”

They reached a suburban area and parked beside a street light. Immersed in the darkness was an abandoned warehouse. Buffy and Faith got out of the car.

“If Klaus loved Parisian palaces he must be ecstatic about living here,” Faith joked, placing a stake inside her leather jacket.

Buffy nodded alongside Spike. “At this point I suggest we split up.”

“Not yet,” Angel replied. “Let’s look inside the building and see what happens.”

“There are four of us and only three of them …”

“There is also the magician. Maybe.”

“He will be harder to kill,” Angel admitted. “Shall we?”

Buffy smiled and grabbed her stake.

The group walked down the street between the warehouse and the rest of the neighborhood. It was unnaturally silent, like nobody was living there anymore. They reached the main door, but it was closed. While the vampires were trying to force it, Faith searched for a second entry.

“This thing looks perfect,” she muttered bending down to examine a small window on the wall.

Without bothering to warn Buffy, Faith decided to sneak in. Taking a deep breath and giving a strong push on the window, she found herself inside the warehouse.

Faith stood up and shook her dust from her jeans. She coughed.

Someone was behind her.

“Don’t you know that it’s rude to enter from the windows?” a female voice said.

Faith shrugged. “I guess I’m still a bad girl.”

The vampire stepped forward. She was very tall and all dressed in black with long curly hair falling over her shoulders. Her face was pale and beautiful and her expression was strangely indifferent. She was holding a sword.

“So you are Roxane …” Faith said. “You look less hot in the pictures.”

The vampire cocked her head and narrowed her black eyes. “You’re going to die,” she said flatly.

“Don’t be so sure about that!” Faith exclaimed trying to take her with a frontal attack.

Roxane stopped her blow and swung her sword before kicking Faith’s forehead.

“I am,” she replied.

- The trailer is absolutely FAB. I can't wait to see the movie.

- Thor. Thor with the cape and the braids. THOR. Y U SO BEAUTIFUL? Chris Hemsworth is incredibly gorgeous and I like how he looks in the battle scene and how big he is compared to Natalie Portman. He really seems from another planet.

- Clearly the little creatures of the woods are the responsable for Thor's fabulous hairstyle. /princess of Asgard.

- LOKI OMG I CAN'T EVENdlgjsldgksjaòetgjaewotawektawejtkawetjml Loki is clearly stealing his look from Lestat in Queen of the Damned. He's a rockstar.

- I kinda hope that Jane dies. XD I'm sorry. And Natalie Portman is absolutely lovely and gorgeous, especially dressed as princess of Asgard. But I have just the feeling that her storyline can't tell us anything more. But maybe she will use her super-science brain to resolve the war. Let's wait and see what is coming.

- Darcy <3 And Sif is badass and jealous. Mostly jealous, poor Sif. I still have this bad feeling about Jane because: the main love interest can be Sif - as in the comics - and Loki has the brains. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong.

- Loki really looks like a rockstar and he's so pale and gothic! Also it seems that there's in a scene in which Loki, Thor and Jane are together. WANT TO SEE THE INTERACTIONS.

Headache and Feels about Angel and about Loki

This morning I woke up with headache and, like always when it happens, I'm still having it. So I didn't do anything productive and I vomited words of broken hearted fangirl on SlayAlive about Angel and Spike. Because after the whole Twangel mess is just so hard to still love Angel. Or maybe - to be more precise - it's so hard to love the tale of Angel, the author's choices about him.
After the issue #20 of Angel and Faith I'm disappointed about the state of comics. And I was hopeful!girl for all S9. Even when that whole robo!Buffy/false pregnancy thing happened. (Which requires a lot of faith)
But, really, I can't bare the Angel fanboy routine anymore. I can't bare that there are no consequences in the portrayal of Angel and I can't bare that the dynamic between Spike and him didn't change.
I firmly think that life changes dynamics. You can maybe be born with that alpha-male crap thing (And I hate this definition) but then things happen and relationship get messy and you basically change and grow and shift your point of view. You live in a complex world, not in a safe shell. Instead, in A&F #20, we have S5 Spike and Angel comedy rebound. Like nothing had happened. And it's incredible because, for once, Angel could have view Spike as wiser than him. But no. Dynamics in the comics, apparently, are always the same.
And I read BtVS "The Watcher" issue and I find Buffy so OOC and inconsistent I can't even deal with that. So, yes, I blame it on the headache.

Meanwhile, I'm also reading something beautiful that breaks my heart in tiny little pieces.
Callie_Stephanides, here her AO3 page, is writing one of the best Thunderfrost I've ever read. (And I hope she eventually does the translation so the world can read it) It's a very Loki-centric story and it really goes deep into Loki's psychology and the core of his destructive and hateful behavior. Like in the original myth, Loki is the epithome of the rejected, the unwanted and the stranger. He doesn't share all the perfect Aesir traits and he's much weaker than Thor (or even Sif, for the matter) and he's so different in his needs from his Aesir family. It's really painful to read a story like that because of Loki pain all over the place and, generally, the pain that I think anyone who isn't perfect, always winning and always accepted by others can understand. Loki's tale in the Thor movie is maybe an old tale of internalized racism and hate. (Which is also interesting because, you know, a blockbuster - not so much for the deepest thoughts)
I'm not generally attracted to psycho characters but I can't help to love Loki more. Black little kitty of disfunction. I hope to find more good fanfics about him (and Thor, because I also love Thor). If you know some title or wrote something about the drama Norse bros, let me know.

I would also write more about him. Except that I apparently dream about a Loki fanfic and then forgot everything about the dream. Scumbag brain is scumbag.

Meanwhile, the President of Repubblic is still Giorgio Napolitano. His job was over but the politicians couldn't pick up another name. I was hoping for Stefano Rodotà, a jurist, but PD (the main "left" party) was split until the last moment. And the anger and disappointment of common people increases. It's not a good situation: these people are called to resolve of a terrible crisis and they can't even choose the name of the new President.
